  1. I am always surprised; pleasantly that is; when young people post these kind of questions on the home school forums.

I would like to let you know that you can purchase the same materials home school families get for their children.

When you get the materials you may need to improve, or actually learn certain subjects like math, and writing you are venturing into the realm of independent study.

You also have the freedom to choose, and use materials that fit your learning style; this alone will improve your skills in these area's.

It also gives you back the control you need to direct your education, as well as find a new appreciation for your own abilities, and you may find out that you actually love learning.

Your education is your responsibility; conventional schools are but one place of many.

Talk to your parents about getting some extra materials to use at home as extra practice, and take it from there.

It may improve your performance at school, or you may find a new way to educate yourself.

Go to this web site, and see what you can come up with.

  2. read books. its how I got smart. I used to be dumb in elementry school and then I strarted reading. Try it & good luck!

  3. Not worry so much about friends and concentrate.

  4. It is difficult to help without knowing more about you and your situation.  If you really want to improve in school, begin by paying attention in class, taking notes, asking questions when you don't understand something.  Do your homework every night, and if you don't understand it, call one of your friends who is a good student and ask about it.  Ask for help here with homework questions.  Talk to your teachers and tell them what you have said here and that you want to change.  Most likely some of them will have good suggestions for you.  If there is a guidance counselor at your school, make an appointment to talk to her, and you should get good suggestions from her too.  Start there, and just that much should make a difference.  Best of luck.  If you really want to, I am sure that you can turn over a new leaf.
