  1. I get post-it notes, really cute binders, and stationary. I label everything and before I put anything away I make sure its in its currect pocket/folder.

I normally get a small binder or folder for each subject, each different in color and design label them accordingly, I put all homework in done/ and need to get done in different folders. I make sure there is post it notes in each folders. I have a agenda/planner for all homework, tests, project due dates and things like that. I also make sure I actually update and check the agenda and make sure to keep it handy.

  2. I have never been organized either but I have done fine in high school.  For me it is not about whether I have organized all my papers in folders and it all looks neat and perfect but that I know where stuff is.  My backpack usually goes more in chronological rather than subject order.  If you have a teacher who mandates some form of organization, then you have to do it, but otherwise find something natural for you.

  3. binders and a locker. and if possible cell phone for me for reminder of homework

  4. First of all get a planner.  keep it out on your desk, under your book, during class. the second the professor says the homework assignment, write it down in your assignment book.  that keeps you from having a bunch of scrap pieces of paper that are floating around with your assignments on them.  second of all, all but do away with looseleaf paper.  keep some in your binder for in-class assignments but buy a one subject notebook for each class for all your notes.  also, buy one of those three hole punches that fits in your binder, that way whenever you get a handout you can hole punch it and put it in your binder right away, no folders needed, no loose papers in your bookbag.  good luck!

  5. organization in my opinion is 95% mental and 5% physical. it takes just as long to dump your books in your locker and attempt to find the ones you need next, as it does to set them in the right place. i use a dry erase board on my locker door and i write reminders up for myself. i find myself writing my homework on there instead of using a planner, but you can certainly use one of those too. one thing that works good for my friends is that they color code their subjects. example. for English lets say you choose the color blue, so you get a blue book cover, a blue folder, and a blue notebook. you choose red for History, red notebook, red book cover, and read folder. etc... personally i don't use binders, i find that the paper has a greater chance of being ripped out. i use notebooks and notebooks only.

i use one of these in the top of my locker. one drawer for writing utensils, one drawer for colored pencils and markers etc.. and the last drawer for miscellaneous things. again organization is mental not physical. if you want to keep your locker organized than you can do it. it takes just as much time to dump as it does to set in the right place.

  6. Well if you have never been organized before you might want to try small steps put all your books and text books in the one place when you get get homework set a reminder to go off about an hour after you get home so you can relax a bit then get into the homework, if you don't finish it at least you have tried and if you have more than a day for it set a reminder for the next morning or afternoon.  When you get assignments start working on them straight away and try to have some work or a draft done by the first week of the assignment being handed out show the teacher (yes i said it) (tip: if you don't want to be seen handing in a draft to the teacher put your name on your work staple it together and put a post it note on the front asking if they could just look if you are on the right track give it to the office tell them you are running late and ask them if they could give it to your teacher), another trick with assignments is set a weekly reminder saying how much time you have left to go both time wise and how far through the assignment you are example 2 weeks to go still need an introduction, a conclusion and another paragraph, you will find this helps you realize both how far you have come and how far you have to go (encourages you to finish it).

hope this was useful, good luck
