Schools in American are for American Citizens, so,?

Question

Should we not teach our kids to Respect, Honor, and Serve our Country? What IS wrong with saying the Pledge of Allegence every morning?

Personially, I think that if your in OUR schools, and do not like what WE teach, then go home.

Nothing wrong with the Pledge except the part about God that was added. What is wrong is making it mandatory. That is contradictory to the Constitution!

My son is a Boy Scout & they pledge allegiance every meeting. I often join in if I stick around.  I don't have a problem with it at all. I think they should keep it in schools, as it re-enforces the connection to our country.

There is nothing wrong with it if that is your belief. We all have the freedom of religion and honoring a country or a flag is basically a religion. If you have a strong faith in God and want to ONLY honor him, then you wouldn't say the Pledge because you only honor God. Other religions may honor something or someone else, and may be the reason for their NOT saying the Pledge. Hope this helps you reason on the matter.

"your" and "you're" mean two different things and instead of bugging about the Pledge of Dorks in America you should go back to school and study which is what schools are intended for. Check your typos starting with "personially"

In case you didn't know; the guy that challenged the 'Pledge of Allegiance' in our schools, is an Athiest "Born in the USA"!

Not, as you seem to indicate, a foreigner. So, he is home, and perfectly within his rights to challenge it in court.

Do you beleive, as an american citizen, that no one has the right to challenge what you hold sacred? As an american citizen, you should be supporting that right.

Wrong you are.Schools,where ever they be, are meant for everybody who wants to learn.No discrimination be made on this please.Yes there is nothing wrong in saying Pledge of Allegence every day and also by everybody. I also fully agree with you, that anybody who doesnt beleive in what the school teaches,should be kicked out of the school.And Pronto.

If you want to wrap yourself around a flag go right ahead, it's your right. But we should spend less time on small trivialities. By not being forced to say the Pledge is a testament to the freedom we enjoy in this great country. Who is WE? and what's OUR schools?
