  1. i hate school but im so smart.. so w.eves.. lol.. i knowi dont know like i dont need school for my career choice.. but

  2. Learn how to spell please.

  3. They've been sold on the idea that without a 'good education' which you can only get at school [sic] you will be a dreadful failure in life and end up working for minimum wage in a fast food joint. It's not reality of course, but it's a scary story so any adults who care about you at all are likely to freak out at any sign that you might be heading down that path.

It's a shame because not everyone is going to be 'academically gifted' but everyone has talents and some of them are undervalued or even ignored by the school system.

If you are honestly doing your best but what school offers isn't what you're good at then maybe you need to try to find and develop your gifts in your own time.

  4. wether your public, private or homeschooled, your writing is horrible.

    "dill" should be deal!

Trust me school is a good thing for everyone, in your case, you need it to teach you how to spell!

Plus, you cant get anywhere in life without a good education at all!!!

Did you know that even the military isnt letting anyone with a GED anymore, it shows that if you cant handle school, & dropped out, can you handle the military?? They'll send you back to get our diploma!

Heck, both my husband & I were managers at a major video store, they too trained us, that anyone who fills out a app saying they had a GED, throw it away! Becuase we all felt that if you cant handle school, & drop out, then chances are you'll not stuck around to hold on to a job!

I at 1 time wanted to quit school, but I had a mom that refused to let me quit! Im glad she didnt let me quit. Ive gone alot farther in life with an education, the I wouldve without it!

  5. you're obviously not doing your best judging by your spelling.

  6. Note the spelling and grammar changes I have made to what you wrote. Perhaps it would show that you were doing your best if these changes were not necessary. You could have at least used the spell checker. Knowing how to spell, and therefor read is the key to comprehension.

Try a little harder. Then they won't get so angry.

Why do older people make school a big DEAL,(I know it is AND all) but all I am saying is why do THEY have to just get mad. When YOU are doing your best.

  7. Coming from an unschooling family, I have no idea; actually I do have an idea but I'm not so sure sharing it here will do me or my reputation round these parts any favours, lol!

I presume you meant to say ' why do older people make school a big DEAL?' The word 'dill' means something very inappropriate in my country!

Anyway I asked exactly this same question on a parenting board when I was younger, aged 11 or thereabouts, as I was totally baffled and confused as to why on earth any parent would even think of punishing their kid for slacking off etcetera at school (and that seemed to be the *only* thing that everyone else on the board - kid or parent - seemed to talk about!)

Basically the answer I got went something like: 'unless they have a particular talent, other kids need to be able to get and keep a job in order to earn a living for themselves when they're older' and that, because of that, some parents get twitchy and stressed about things such as their kids' 'difficulties in developing self discipline, a successful work ethic, good work habits, persistence and so on'.

  8. Forget Emily.  Good spelling does not a good person make.  Being "good" in school means having a gift at memorization, often which means forgetting everything you learn after the test is over.  But since you're in school, you have to try your best, as you say you are.  If you make good marks - that's fine.  If you don't - just move on.  And know that many people make it through school with low marks but go on to do big things - MANY people.   Try to not to lose your natural desire to answer your own personal questions.  Be curious and study what interests you.  Read about your interests, meet people with similar interests, visit places that cultivate your interests, and you'll find all kinds of exceptional growth occurring within you that have no "grades" or "tests" attached.
