The German international admitted that the London side was heavily interested in signing him in this summer’s transfer window. The player admitted that a potential move to Stamford Bridge could have been interesting for him, but
is happy to commit his future with his current side.

have been kept undisclosed.
“Chelsea's interest was really concrete. They would have been a very interesting option for me. I understand Leverkusen's decision not to let go of me, though. However, there were a few things that annoyed me. I didn't like that
the entire thing was out in the open with all the details,” the player was quoted as saying in an interview.
The 21-year old stated that Leverkusen should not have made the offer public as it did not help any of the sides involved. He wanted some professionalism from his current club, but is now prepared to leave everything behind him
to prepare for the new season.
“I don't understand why the club went public like that. It didn't do anybody any good. I would have liked a bit more discretion and protection from Bayer,” the Bayer Leverkusen winger concluded.
