Bayern Munich midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 duo Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta, claiming he is different to them.
The midfielder was compared to the two Catalans by manager Jupp Heynckes after a stunning season thus far but the Bavarian insisted that he is a bit different. Schweinsteiger claimed that both Xavi and Iniesta are brilliant players
but he has a different style of play as compared to them.
The player added that he plays more of a physical game and has the aerial ability to win balls where as the Spaniards focus more the creative side of the game. However, he remained grateful to manager Heynckes for praising him
and appreciating his performances this season.
“They're both terrific players, no question about that. But I regard myself as a little bit different, especially in physical terms. I do win a few balls in the air, simply due to my physical stature. But obviously, I know what
Jupp is trying to say,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German international also expressed his delight on talking the responsibility of the role of a vice-captain in the team. He admitted that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mark-van-Bommel-c24148 was a great leader before leaving for AC Milan in January this and to
fill in his boots would surely take time. He heaped praise on the former skipper and rated him as a brilliant leader in his time at the club.
The player added that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philipp-Lahm-c29929 is an exceptional captain and that he has a great understanding with him.
“I'm happy to take on responsibility. We lost a big personality when Mark left, but the responsibility is now shared on several sets of shoulders. I learned a great deal from Mark, I had a good relationship with him and we had
a terrific understanding,” he concluded.
Bastian Schweinsteiger has so far made 260 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern Munich since his debut in 2002. The midfielder has scored 28 goals for the Bavarians. He also has an impressive 90 caps for the German national team,
finding the net 23 times in the process.
