i need help on afew questions- i live in bc canada just in case if you dont get what bc means

1)when is run-off a good thing

2)when is run-off a bad thing

3)wat are some anthropogenic (man-made) causes of run-off

4)why is it a concern for bc streams

  1. Run-off can be bad when it carries away good soil, or carries away fertilizers or other things farmers have placed on fields. This may cause excess plant growth in the streams and eutrophication.

    Runoff can be beneficial if it all lands at the end of a stream in a delta and makes very fertile farmland.

    Man-made problems occur when there is less  forests  and unplowed grasslands to hold onto the water, man-made fertilizers effect streams, cutting trees, poor farming practices that allow erosion, salt put on roads in the winter can be a run-off problem.

    British Columbian streams could see the effects of any of these things we have discussed.
