Okay, so my school is having a science fair, and I HAVE NO CLUE ON WHAT TO DO!!!! Well, there are many rules:

Rules:

-Must be done at school

-Parents may not help with project

-Must be creative and interesting

-It can't blow up

-No volcanoes accepted

The categories are plants, animals, solar system, human body and cells. I really wanna win!!! I have a partner (it is mandatory) and people expect the best from me because I'm class top student (very smart) your idea is due on Monday and the Fair is on Thursday, we really don't have time, and we were told today about it. It cannot be very difficult because I have to make it. I'm 11 and I'm in the fifth grade... please any ideas would be wonderful!!!!! Thanks for those who help, and FYI: I can get ideas from other people.

10 points for best answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a ridiculous time frame. The category restrictions are also ridiculous.  I like the non-newtonian fluids that you can see on you tube, but I don't know how to put it into a category that you are allowed.  Unless you design an egg protector and that qualifies as "animal". {ut non-newtonian fluid in ziplock bag with an egg and see how high you can drop it and have it protected from breaking.

  2. human body:

how do different types of video games and consoles affect the heart rate and pressure?... and any other thing you can measure

you can try with different types of video games like: shooting first person, adventure, racing, fighting.

or with different types of consoles Wii, any other console, and computer.

and making different types of test for each game and console: "must win at all costs" and "playing just for fun"

for the presentation you may put it to the test. great impression for the judges!

  3. NASA just extended the Cassinni Space Probe project. You could report on that and its progress.

This may sound dumb but it could go somewhere: you get some old carpet and put some stains on and use different cleaners to show what works best on certain stains. For the fifth grade this is reasonable. For blood stains you just use some blood from liver or ground beef. Then you could have a permanent marker stain and some food or hair dye and some motor oil. Don't use any strong chemicals. Laundry detergent, Oxiclean, Fantastic spray, and GoJo hand cleaner, or something else. Don't use bleach you'll gas yourself and your teachers and it may react with another chemical. And wear gloves. Everybody likes looking at a rug with stains on it and how it may or may not clean up. The GoJo is only $1 for a can. It is a gel and it is very safe you could use the rest after the project at the house.

Go to Radio Shack and look for a simple science project you can build and show in one day, but that will cost money.

Do something with litmus paper and show acids and bases. Litmus paper is cheap. Don't use any strong acids like battery acid. Just apple vinegar, WATER that's your base, crunch up some Tums anti-acid and put them in some water or Alka Seltzer. Ph of filtered bottled water versus tap water. Don't use a strong base you will burn your hands. No DRANO or lye.

  4. You could try the M&M survival challenge (edit: this could qualify under animals).  Pretty easy, tasty and kinda neat, too.  Here is the site that explains it all:

They have tons of ideas - if you don't like this one, you can try another.
