  1. 1.) which color of candle burns the quickest.

2.) cut about half a inch off the bottom of a stalk of celery. put it in a glass of red food coloring and water. let it sit there for a day or two, then you'll see little red lines going up the stalk of celery. the reason its doing that is the water and red food coloring if going up the vains of the stalk of celery. heres the question for this idea: Does celery have vains?

let me know what you choose to do for your Sicence Fair Project, even if its not one of my idea, let me knowww!

  4. This one earned me a third place ribbon in junior high.

Use red cabbage juice as a sort of litmus paper. Pour into a bunch into different clear cups and add things like soap, lemon juice, vinegar, etc. You can add anything you find in your house to make it more interesting. The acids turn a shade of red, the bases a shade of blue. You can talk about nature's limus test.

BTW you get red cabbage juice by boiling massive amounts of it in water. Your house will stink, but maybe you'll get an A.

    Good luck!

  5. Can a seed grow in something other than soil? The way I did mine was I planted a seed in different types of planters. One in soil (this is the control), one in sand, one in water. Then see which grows better. You have to write what you see in each pot each day and just water them. You don't have to do much work, and I got an honorable mention for mine.
