  1. No, unless whatever is added affects the interface between the object and the surface.

    Force of friction = friction coefficient * weight

    Force of friction = friction coefficient * mass * gravity

    so if you increase the mass or the force of gravity (go to Jupiter) the friction increases proportionately.
