This is not an argument, just a question.

Why do we have to learn about waves, like sound waves, electromagnetic waves, etc. in middle school?

They always say that there's a reason you learn everything and someday you might need it.

What's your input?

  1. You will be able to understand sound, Radio Frequencies, Light, etc.

Even if the subject is presented to you in a simpler than eventually will be presented to you, it will help later on to visualize it better.

You can choose a life where you will never needed. You may have to be satisfied with being just just a worker with no skills. You will get paid less for doing the hardest job.

You will find later in life that understanding things of nature will give you a broader understanding of life itself.

I used to ask similar questions. I'm glad I was required to learn at an early age. I'll attempt to give you some examples:

    1) You want to buy speakers. You don't know which ones are better. If you understand about Frequency Response, Hearing Frequency Range (sound waves), you can make an intelligent choice of what to buy.

    2) You want to buy a good LCD TV or Digital Camera. You have to know the resolution in Pixels. It will help you to know the Color Bandwidth. How can you perceive what is color composed of if you don't know the Visible Spectrum.
