  1. shorter.  they have winter in June/July.

  2. Yes.

  3. If you think about it, this is very easy.

When its summer in the northern hemisphere, its winter in the southern hemisphere, right?  And winter means shorter days and longer nights, right?

  4. Shorter.  In the summer (in the northern hemisphere), the north axis is pointing in the direction of the sun (pretty much).  As the earth rotates, the sun never sets if you are far enough north.  Likewise, the south pole is in the dark.

Switch seasons to winter, and everything is reversed.  Now the north pole is in constant night, and the south pole in constant light.

  5. This is only applicable if you're considerably far away from the equator.

In the Northern Hemisphere, days are longer from April to October.

In the Southern Hemisphere, days are longer from October to April.

This is because of the earth's axis' tilt. When the south has summer, the north has winter. When days are longer in the south, they're shorter in the north.

  6. Shorter, there always opposite.
