I know it depends on the wick but i'm not sure how to measure it. These are some ideas i have

-measure the beggining height. after a couple of minutes measure it again. idk

-measure the wick and draw the line. Measure with a stop watch and When the line melts away completly i stop and record my time.

Idk those are the things i have right now but if you have any suggestions any are welcome.

  1. I think you have some good ideas.  I think the density of each candle should be measured too, because that might affect how fast the wax melts.  Also, the thickness of the wick should be the same.

Could you get two candles that are identical except for the color of the wax?

  2. it comes more down to chemical composition, than color.

however to get the color you need an added chemical.

thus the only way to find out is preform  one of your test...which seem valid assuming the only variable is the color. not things like size, shape, environment.

    :)
