Assume a friend of yours has built a pendulum. It has been swinging for five days. If your friend told you it was a perpetual motion machine, what would you say in response? Even if your friend’s pendulum would swing “forever,” why would it not be a perpetual motion machine?

  1. It isn't possible see below. Can never be achieved.

    Hope this helps.

  2. i would tell him it can't be because it breaks the law of conservation of energy. since energy cant be created or destroyed, its impossible in the laws of physics. due to friction and air resistance it will inevitably slow down to a stop.

  3. The resistance of air would stop it

  4. Because a perpetual motion machine uses power from the machine to make the machine produce the power needed to run the machine ***********
