It is a boon or a curse depending on your point of view.

Science is really just a way of thinking about things rationally and in a way that can be repeated and built upon. Almost everything that involves technology required scientific thinking.

What you have to ask yourself is whether or not you are willing to live without technology beyond what was available hundreds of years ago. If the things like plumbing, electricity, modern medicine, etc. are a boon, then so is science.

Without science, the way the Amish live would be well beyond what would be considered cutting edge technology.

it's an occur. for eg. Isaac newton didn't ask an apple to fall on his head!!

it can b called a boon as it helps in many things as for computer, telephone etc!! it's a disaster as we hav to study all these!!

Science is there due to the man. It is he who has made it all - engineering, technology and all to serve his needs and to fulfil wants. As long as your finger is on the keyboard of your computer browsing the net as you are doing, you feel it is a 'boon' and if your finger is hovering around the button of a missile launcher others feel it is not. Whichever way it may occur, but you lost your choice to philosophise as you can't put back the genie.
