*science:land slides...?

Can anyone please tell me 2 or more ways to decrease the risk of land slides "scientifically" ^_^?

  1. Land slides are caused by the destabilisation of the slope of  soil and rock. The destabilising influence is usually water.

    Two methods to decrease the risk,

    - plants vegetation that will stabilise by holding the rock and soil together and thus reducing the risk

    - Divert water by putting in drainage around the suspect slope.
