Advantages (as compared to asexual reproduction)

*INTRODUCES VARIATIONS in offsprings which help in adaptation remember 'survival of fittest' if you cant adapt to your environment you are eliminated as environment is constantly changing so variations help in adapting

*eliminates the poor or bad traits /genes - theory of natural selection by default nature deselects the things (read genes) which have no survival value

*helps in propagation of species

Disadvantages (as compared to asexual reproduction)

*destroys the originality of species

*more mutations so more chances of some bad thing happening

*requires the presence of both male and female species or the method of dispersal of seeds in plants
