Scientifically not using silly religious mythology what happens to a human consciousness after death?

consciousness after death could only transpire if there was more than physical existance.. hence this cannot be a scientific question.. nor can a scientific answer be provided.. as there is yet to be any scientific evidience of what would be considered a 'soul' in phylisophical/theological debate...

Someone correct me if I'm incorrect, but I always thought that consciousness is not a biological attribute. This seems more of a philosophical question.

The human consciousness is a product of the brain in the same way as the pulse is the product of the heart.  At death both organs die.  The heart stops beating, and the brain stops thinking.  No pulse, no mind.
