Scooter/Moped help north carolina

Question

Im 15 almost 16 and im looking for a scooter/moped that doesent require a drivers license. I am willing to spend up to $500 on it , do you have to take drivers ed before riding one? does anybody know where i can get a new or used moped/scooter near hickory or charlotte north carolina? Any info will help.

as long as it is under 100cc's you don't need a license in nc. there are no classes to take for a moped or scooter. but they drive just like a motorcycle. you can take a class on motorcycle driving too. just check you local community colleges. also stop at the dmv and get a driver's handbook. read that and it will give you all the info on getting a driver's license.
