I'm planning to buy a moped/scooter. I narrowed the search down to two models, both 50cc: Tomos Revival St. ($1590, two-stroke) and 2008 Yamaha Vino Classic ($1949, four-stroke). If you have used any of these two models, can you give some feedback?

  1. The Yamaha without doubt if you have to have one or the other, but as stated above you can get an excellent scooter from Kymco, Genuine, Dailem, Hyosung, TGB, or another South Korean or Taiwan company. Great machines at very good prices.

  2. Well Tomos are junk and if you have your mind made up but If you have your mind made up        get the Yamaha but I would suggest before  you buy look at Kymco and Hyosung also Genuine scooters. They are every bit as good and cheaper do be mistaken these are not Chinese  junk but quality will made scooters. Between the three names you have many choices. And even the worst one is better than a Honda rebel.

  3. Feed back.... 50cc "scooters" are junk. Buy at least a 150 scooter and better a 250cc cycle such as a HondaRebel.

  4. I would go for the four-stroke.. but can't believe the prices you stated. Not that I don't believe you but guess I need to raise the price on the scooter I sell. These are $600+ over what we sell them for and I though I was making good money. Would suggest you look around a little more.

  5. I would opt for the 4-stroke; they don't smoke like a 2 stroke, and they are often quieter, depending on how the exhaust is set up.
