Soaring temperature has always played a major part in Texas during the summers, be it FCD or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Houston-Dynamo-c39542, but 102 degree Fahrenheit temperature for July 31st broke all records.
The heat has always benefitted the Toros and this season has been no exception. The FCD have managed 8 clean sheets in the last 9 matches including the weekend game.
“It was definitely one of the hotter games in my career,” said centre-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/George-John-c14564. “I love it. I know that the other team dreads it even more so. I personally relish it. Our record shows that we do well and have been successful.”
The game was almost one sided as the Hoops bossed the midfield for most of the time but it never meant the Texans did not feel the high temperature, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ugo-Ihemelu-c35675 said, defending the win.
“You say home field advantage but we are feeling this heat just as much,” the centre-back added. “You just have to be mentally tough and keep grinding out and you can’t let your body dictate how you play.”
Marvin Chavez scored the lone goal of the game in 26th minute. Even the goalscorer complained about the temperature. According to him, the travelling coupled with the heat made sure the players had to put if extra effort to
match the pace of the ball. His teammates did not lose composure to their credit and ended up the better side.
Moreover, the home side did not have ample time to practice for the game and only managed a small session in the morning to avoid the temperature.
“Some of the guys were even teasing about Chivas being the home team because they were here longer than us,” said head coach Schellas Hyndman.
With the weekend win, the Hoops improved to 12-5-6 (12 wins, 5 losses and 6 draws) and are just three points behind the Western Conference leaders http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Los-Angeles-Galaxy-c39818, whom they will try to defeat next Saturday at The Home Depot Center.
