  1. I've been playing Dominoes for awhile and never heard any scoring slang.

  2. 5 points is a nickel. 10 points is a dime. A slash is used to mark a nickel two slashes are marked to from an X for a dime.

    50 points is a string.

250 points; is five strings - a string is 50 points and scored by making a mark for each nickel scored. The first two nickels of each string from a large "X" and subsequent scores for the string are ticked a nickel at a time by making a smaller 'x" in each vortex of the big "X" thus when the string is finished there is an "X" surrounded by 4 x's.

The fifth and last string is called the "Big Pasture".

  3. I've never heard of that thing.
