I will not even include bourbon in the poll, but Southern Comfort is sometimes nice. Still, Bourbon is too sweet.

  1. im from tullamore....so i have to go with tullamore dew too....

    irish all th way

tho yes i do prefer SC..JD , less so

  2. Southern comfort isn't bourbon, it has sugar added.

I find that most furreigners who think bourbon tastes too sweet tried one, didn't like it, and never tried another.  You ought to give a shot to something a little more upscale, like the rye-heavy wild turkey (get the 101, 80pf sucks).  You wouldn't have me say that single malt scotch sucks because I've only ever tried Cutty Sark or one of the Littlemill abortions some years back, would you?

A friend of mine says that cheap irish whisky is better than cheap scotch, but that good scotch (like $40+ or something) beats the tar out of premium irish.  I find that's mostly true, at least in the US: maybe we just get the dregs, but it seems like most of the cheap scotch here is caramel-colored paint thinner that costs an extra six to ten bucks just because it says "scotch whisky" on the label.

The cheap irishes, on the other hand, are fantastic.  Tullamore Dew is excellent.

  3. I'm not a scotch fan, Irish Whiskey for me, lad, Give every man his dew, Tillamore Dew.

  4. there is a brand of mexican whiskey I cant think of the name, but that is my favorite.

  5. Either. I've had fantastic Irish Whiskey and awful Irish Whisky. I've had incredible Scotch and c**p.
