  1. Scotland, Italy and Portugal better than teams like Argentina and Ireland.... L.R. you don't watch very much rugby do you?

As for Scotland, with the current supremacy of  New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland etc. there is very little chance that they will even come close to winning it in the next 30 years.

Scotland may launch a joint bid with one of their Celtic neighbours to host which could be successful.

This year I can only see the All Blacks winning. I know there has been a lot of talk about South Africa recently but Ireland beat a pretty good Springboks team 32-15 in the Autumn internationals. A lot will depend on the upcoming Tri-nations, the winner will be  the favourite for the World Cup.

  2. scotland in 2027 and they may make the the last 10

  3. Scotland were really well ranked at the first one, Ithink they were top 4 from memory. Since then their game hasn't been anywhere as strong. I don't think you have to be a huge team to run one, I think you must have a certain percentage of supporters.

If Scotland was to host one I think they would share it with England, Whales and Ireland, as this way the games are spread around a small area and the cost is dramatically reduced.

ha ha order of best teams.....

    South Africa

    France

    Australia

    Portugual

    Scotland

  4. Scotland would be a wonderful place to hold a Ruby Word Cup. They have quite a few stadiums beside Murrayfield. Games could be played at of all names Rugby Park in Kilmarnock, home of Johnnie Walker. There is also Ibrox,Celtic park, Hampden holds quite a few people so their would be no problems at all.

  5. Ha ha I liked the last post - order of best teams. Portugal?? They are the worst team in the competition.

I can see Scotland hosting the World Cup, we always have a few games regulary 91, 99, 07 we all had games at murryfield. Including the horrible 91 Scotland vs England semi.

Chances of Scotland ever winning? Hate to say it but absolutely nil - ever. This year we'll struggle to get out of the group stage, we've never beaten the All Blacks and Italy got the better of us in the 6 nations, plus Hadden is no more than a good coach. On our day we could upset someone but over the whole tournament we don't have the players or the skill, I really hope I can eat my words though.

  6. Not much chance this year, scotland have only beat S.A once and the last time we played you guyz there was a bit of a thrashing, but for all we know a miracle can happen like bangladesh in the world cup. top teams in order of best are

    New Zealnd

    South Africa

    France

    Australia

    Portugual

    Scotland

    Italy

    Ireland

    and all the others

  7. I don't think that Scotland would be able to host the World Cup by themselves, they may attempt to do what they tried to do for euro 2012 (soccer) and co host it with Ireland (or Wales).

As far as them winning it in the future, we never know, a good youth system is the key, 15 years ago Ireland would never have been considered a great team, but they introduced a great youth system and rugby academys in munster, leinster and ulster and now look at them.

I think New Zealand are the only team that could win, they are just perfect in every departement, I mean, look what they did to France in those last 2 tests. As far as other teams go, I believe that whoever wins pool D ( thats between Ireland, France and ArgentinA) will meet the All Blacks in the final.Personally, I think it will be Ireland as they let the six nations get away from them this year and will be up to prove something at the World Cup. Also New Zealand have publicly stated that Ireland are the team that they feel will be their biggest threat, Ireland gave them a good 2 matches last year and although Ireland lost both, they proved that they have the ability to beat them on their day.

I hope you will find this answer helpful and enjoy the World Cup, and who knows maybe Scotland will surprise us all.
