Scotland name team for Rugby World Cup 2011 under leadership of Alastair Kellock - Rugby News
Scotland has revealed their 30-member delegation for Rugby World Cup 2011 on August 22. The World Cup crew will be led by Alastair Kellock. The new skipper has represented his side on 34 occasions and has been given big task of leading his side starting
next month in New Zealand. The head coach of Scotland, Andy Robinson, made the announcement of his 30 players before a large number of media representatives.
Talking to the media, Andy Robinson, said that each of the men has been selected in the side for their excellent work in the past. The coach also consoled players who could not make a place in the final squad. The coach said that he has made some tough decisions
regarding the selection of Scottish squad as there were number of good players that were ignored due to huge talent in his side.
The coach further said that, “What I've seen from the squad is a tremendous team spirit, a great courage for the way they've worked together and I'm delighted to be head coach of this squad. I know they're going to go and do Scotland proud. I have no doubt
about that. I'd like to thank every single one of them for the work they've done so far.”
He added that eight players have benn axed from the team and Nikki Walker is the big name amongst those players. Walker has been around the Scotland team for a long time and was expecting his selection for RWC 2011. Walker has represented his national side
22 times at the winger position and has earned 50 points for his team.
On the other hand, Kellock has played 34 matches for his team. The lock has impressed the selectors with his unique style and tremendous skills at his position.
