Scotland’s World Twenty20 Qualifying campaign kicks-off with a match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ireland-c751.
Prior to the World Twenty20 Qualifier match, Scotland will go up against the UAE in the ICC Intercontinental Cup match at Sharjah on Thursday, February 16. The three-day game will be followed by two http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World Cricket League Championship games against the
same opposition.
Cricket Scotland also revealed the contingent that will be locking horns with UAE in these three outings.
The Scots head coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-David-Steindl-c81581, was upbeat about his side’s chances in all formats of the game. Steindl admitted that it will be a tough task to quickly change gears between all three formats but remained positive that all the hard work put in by his
team will pay-off.
He said, “This will be a challenging tour for the squad, which will incorporate all three forms of the game. Our preparations have gone well to date and we are looking to transfer this work quickly when we arrive in Sharjah on Saturday.”
Kyle Coetzer, the mainstay in Scotland’s batting line-up, was not included in the Intercontinental Cup team, as the batter had to meet certain obligations. The Scottish lynchpin will, however, be available for selection for the World Twenty20 qualifiers
and the World Cricket League Championship.
