Personally, I have to admit that I couldn't stomache being part of the British Empire anymore and emigrated to Ireland. I still haven't applied for Irish citizenship as I'm still praying for the day when we will regain sovereignty and I can apply for a Scottish passport. So, like Mr Connery, I'm an expat Scot waiting for the day of our return. Sorry I couldn't stay to campaign for the cause but please let me know what you think about the possibiltiy of Scottish Independance?

  1. Your also a Hypocrit - loving Scotland but not even living there.

A country is made by its people, its population, not by ex-pats who run away when things get tough, and preach to the rest of us about Sovereignty and citizenship.

  2. I agree!you can have your Independence! The sooner the better; As far as I am concerned!

But what I mean by independence; Is different from what Alex Salmond wants!

My meaning of independence is complete severence from the English and Welsh taxpayer! No preferential naval contracts going to Scottish shipyards! But defence contracts going to English and Welsh contracors only!

All none working Scots in England and Wales to be repatriated back

to Scotland  and all working Scots to be treated the same as Poles,Rumanians and Italians!

Alex Salmond wants independence for Scotland! But wants the English and Welsh taxpayer to prop them up!

    I say;Independence for England!The sooner;The better!Who will vote for that proposition!

  3. Oh great, another centuries old argument being kept alive by people like you.  When are you going to realize that there are no nations anymore, there are only corporations.

  4. lol what?! scottish independence?! you could not even bear to stay in your home land and fled to crappy ireland, how is it even possible for scotland to be 'independent'

anyway, scotland and england and wales and northen ireland (and the rest of modern countries that arent UK) ARE NOW so heavily integrated with each other, that it is almost impossible to function properly if u suddenly be independent without warning.

  5. Funny how the most devoted Scots don't live there, isn't it. If you want to change things then go back home and make a stand. Connery ducked out because he's a rich fool and thought that only he had all the answers. True Scots stay there and fight on for what they believe in, they don't abandon the country and leave it to others to sort it out. I am laying my cards on the table to, I am Scottish and living in, can you believe it, England!  It's all one island and it is not big enough for more wars of independence, sorry. Scotland is still Brave and a beautiful place and deserves devolution brought about by the people who live in it for the people who live in it. No point in leaving then moaning that you cant go back because of the English, sorry that does not wash. Go home and hold your head up and be proud in your own country.

  6. A MATURE response would be to stay and do your bit.

      But, then......................

  7. if thats what u want then ok......but do u still expect the english taxpayer to subsidise you..................u and all your nationalist buddies spend too much time watching reruns of Braveheart

  8. All the English hope you Scottish get your Independence,

English Tax Payers will then have Independence from the Tax Burden of Scotland,

  9. Go away.

  10. 'like Mr Connery' ? ... if you think dear ol' Sean is going to give up life in The Bahamas where he can play golf every day in the sunshine to move back to a wet and windy Scotland because it's independent you are deluding yourself.

That's why you are a hypocrite, Sean didn't leave because Scotland wasn't independent (didn't stop him accepting a knighthood did it) and nor did you.  Offer you a well paid job in London and you'd jump at it, no doubt shouting 'Freedom' every time we score a try in the Calcutta.  If and when we do regain sovereignty I doubt you'll rush back, you'll just find another excuse.

You sound like one of those 'ex-pats' who's so proud of being a Scot when you're abroad because it makes you 'different'. You'll never come 'home' because we'd know you for the a***hole that you are.

Stop blaming others for being a loser.... I'm off for a pint of 80/-

    The character...

"Some people hate the English, but I don't.

    They're just w**kers.

We, on the other hand, are colonized by w**kers.

We can't even pick a decent culture to be colonized by."

    The actor....

"I resent being told how to feel about Scotland by someone who hasn't lived there for 25 years"
