Scotland’s Scott Donaldson eyes winning World Snooker Championship
Winner of the 2012 European Snooker Championship, Scottish potter, Scott Donaldson is playing in the pro tour this year with the aim to make a place in the World Snooker Championship.
Donaldson performed brilliantly in domestic snooker tournaments and proved his class. Now the Scotsman has only one goal in mind, and that is to claim the World Championship.
While speaking to World Snooker, Donaldson said, “I was two frames away from making it through Q School which would have allowed me to play in the first two tournaments, but now I'm glad it happened the way it did because I've got a title to my name and
no one can take that away from me.”
He added, “I'd always dreamed of turning professional, and not just that but doing something in the game. Now I've given myself the chance to see what I can do. My ultimate goal is to win the World Championship, though I know that's not as easy as it sounds!”
The young Scotsman tried his luck in the 2012 World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) in order to win a place in the professional circuit tour of the 2012-13 Snooker Season but he failed to make his way to the semi-final stage in all three editions of
the event and tumbled down.
However, winning the European title at the Latvia gave him a chance to get back to business and earn a spot in the professional circuit. The Scot did miss the 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker tournament and the 2012 Australian Goldfields Open snooker event but
now he is in the pro line up and is looking for an impressive run in the upcoming events.
In recent years, the game of snooker is spreading rapidly throughout the world and many new talents are emerging everyday on the surface of the game trying to make their place in the professional tour.
At this point, where the competition is getting tougher with each passing day, it is essential to stay in the circle of Top 64. Potters from around the world are in a quest to book their place in the top ranks of World Snooker so that they can take part
in all snooker tournaments of the world.
