Scotsman Gary Anderson ravages the spell of luck
One of the highly anticipated encounters of McCoy Premier League turned into a one-sided battle when Flying Scotsman and the current Premier League champion, Gary Anderson, was able to thrash his opponent Adrian Lewis.
For the last couple of days, prior to the legendary battle, news were making rounds about the reasons due to which each of the players could be termed as favourite.
On one hand, Anderson was being termed as hot favourite because of his home crowd advantage and the excellent performance that he has delivered so far in the event.
On the other hand, Lewis was a potential winner because of his ability to reverse results within an eye-wink.
However, everything on the day of the game turned to be going completely in Anderson’s favour.
He mounted on the oche with the intent of gaining an early lead in the game and executed exactly what he had planned.
With an early three leg lead in the match, things already began to turn sour for the reigning Ladbrokes champion, but Anderson was not in the mood to grant any mercy.
He wanted vengeance and he claimed it. The vengeance of the defeat he had to face at the hands of Lewis in the 2011 World Championship.
As if all this was not enough, Lewis made a couple of other mistakes providing Anderson a further opportunity to capitalise on.
He missed his first attempts to score on doubles and this further distanced him from any possible score he could have attained.
The Scotsman, who had already started to enjoy things by now, was now thinking of increasing his lead to the maximum.
His refraining from taking the advantage provided Lewis with the opportunity to score a single leg, hence, the score board then registered 5-1.
Before Jackpot could further make a move of casting his magical spells, Anderson decided to go for the flight.
His back-to-back scoring of legs, once again, left Lewis completely helpless and he capitulated to score any further leg in the entire game.
With the final score reading 8-1, it was proved that there are other players in darts who have the ability of making things work without any magical move or lucky charm.
