Scotsman to crush the pride of Jackpot luck
Flying Scotsman, also the reigning McCoy Premier Darts League Champion, Gary Anderson is all set for his next encounter on Thursday against the World Champion Adrian Lewis.
Following a rather bottomed start at the beginning of the season, the Scottish player delivered his best at the Grand Slam of Darts with an average of 102.
This occurred in his Premier League match against James Wade in Belfast. Anderson was able to secure a convincing victory in the game with a score line 8-5.
Commenting on the position of his rival, Anderson said, "Adrian's won the last two World Championships and carried on that form into the Premier League and I've won my last two games and my form's coming back".
He continued, "We always have good games and our styles probably complement each other; we're both pretty quick players who get into a rhythm".
It is important to mention here that Anderson and Lewis share a long prevailing rivalry.
The Scotsman was defeated by Jackpot to secure the position of World Champion of Darts for the first time. Since then, both of them are considered as arch rivals.
However, according to the experts, things can change at Westpoint arena. Firstly, with Anderson possessing the home crowd advantage, it will not be very difficult for him to manipulate results.
Secondly, as regarded by pundits, is the constantly slumping performance delivered by Jackpot so far in the Premier League.
Since his campaign opening performance against Phil Taylor, Lewis has not been able to live up to the expectations his fans have associated with him.
On the other hand, it is interesting to note that Lewis has not been defeated in any of his encounters. He has been able to draw many of them.
It has only been in his last game against his Ladbrokes opponent Andy Hamilton. With the help of an 11-darter, he finally managed to open his account on the points table.
"Gary's coming back into a bit of form," said Lewis. "He has been struggling and it's not been the Gary Anderson we know, but you can't take him lightly".
He continued, "It's going to be tough but I'm looking forward to it and I've got to go up there and do the job against Gary".
The match will have a decisive position in pointing out the likely contender to win the Premier League this year.
