Scott Dann, the 24-year-old Birmingham City central defender, revealed he was focused on his current side despite various rumours linking him to a move to the English Premier League side. However, Dann admitted he wanted to play top level football once again,
with Birmingham City having been relegated at the end of last season.
The speculation arose when Dann was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with new http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss Andre Villas-Boas reportedly interested in acquiring his services in the summer transfer window. A move from Birmingham City to English Premier League giants
Chelsea would be a dream move for any player and Dann was said to be interested.
Along with Chelsea, London rivals Arsenal also expressed interest in the player but have yet to make an official offer. Last but not least, Stoke City and Liverpool are also rumoured to be considering the English defender as a possible signing in the summer
transfer window. This will be Stoke City’s second attempt to sign the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 under-21 international, having tried earlier in June.
While Dann revealed he was flattered by the interest from the Premier League sides, he was currently focused on playing for Birmingham City. He said he would continue to give his best for the City until a concrete agreement was reached with a club. The centre-back
confirmed he was still a Birmingham City player.
Dann said while speaking to reporters:
“Obviously players have gone and that's just the way things have happened with the situation how it is now.
From a personal point of view, I am still a Birmingham City player until I get told otherwise.”
He continued:
“I am an ambitious person and I want to play at the top level. Everyone who knows me knows that, and I am no different to any player.
But at the moment all I am concentrating on is the football and doing well for Birmingham.”
Dann signed with Birmingham City in the summer of 2009 for an estimated fee of £3.5 million, which is the club record fee for a defender. Since his arrival at St Andrews, Dann has managed to retain his place in the first team. He has made a total of 50 appearances
in the English Premier League, even scoring two goals.
