Scott Dann urges Blackburn Rovers teammates to return to winning ways
Blackburn Rovers central defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scott-Dann-c32662 urged his teammates to stick together to help the club through the tough period and ensure they climbed out of the relegation zone.
The Rovers gave away a perfectly good 1-0 lead over Sunderland when the home team scored two late goals to secure a 2-1 win at the Stadium of Light. Their lethargy was one of the reasons why Martin O’Neill got off to a winning start as the manager of the
Black Cats.
This leaves Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 with just two wins in the 2011-2012 season, leaving them second from bottom in the English Premier League table. However, they will have their chance to make amends when they take on West Bromwich Albion at Ewood Park over the
weekend.
Dann moved to Blackburn Rovers in the summer transfer window, rejecting the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, from relegated side Birmingham City. However, upon arriving he has witnessed conditions similar to his previous side and called for
unity amongst the players.
Dann said while speaking to reporters:
“It's not easy being down there when, like on Sunday, we were 10 minutes away from getting three points and getting out of the bottom three and your luck runs out and you end up still being in there.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 under-21 international admitted it was tough to be in the bottom three of the English Premier League table, but was certain they could pull through. According to him, confidence and self belief was all it would take for them to climb up
the table.
He revealed:
“All the lads are a confident bunch and we're all confident that we can get out of the bottom three soon, put a couple of good results together and move up the table.”
The central defender was certain the squad possessed the quality to be in the top half of the table and urged his teammates to try their best to return to winning ways. They stand a chance to do that when West Bromwich Albion travel to Ewood Park this Saturday.
Dann continued:
“The bunch of players we've got at Blackburn are a good bunch of players and I think we should be, for the players we've got, a lot further up the table.
That's down to us to get the points on the board.”
