Scott Goodheart names 18-member French Men’s squad for EuroHockey Nations Championship, Germany
Scott Goodheart, the head coach of the French national Men’s hockey team, has announced the 18-member national squad for the upcoming EuroHockey Nations Championships in Monchengladbach, Germany which will be played from August 20 and conclude on August
28.
The team was short of just two players as sixteen players had already been selected for the event. Striker Jean-Baptiste Pauchet and Martin Genestet have been included to complete the squad.
The team has a lot of new and fresh faces as out of 18 players who took part in the 2008 Olympic Qualifiers, only three are available for the team. Therefore the coach, Goodheart viewed that it was a great effort to re-establish the squad after a lot of
players have been retired from the national team.
“Following the last European Cup in 2009, we set about trying to ensure that the players had the opportunity to train consistently in a high level environment and play as many internationals as possible,” Goodheart further added to his comments.
Sandra Harik, manager of the national squad and High Performance Manager for the Men’s Program at INSEP has stated that they have achieved their objective.
“The majority of the team has been training full-time at INSEP for 2 years now, and we will average over 50 games per player in Monchengladbach – with most of the games in the last 12 months being against opposition from the top 12 teams in the world.” Sandra
Harik shared the views.
The French-Men’s national squad for the upcoming EuroHockey Nations Championships in Monchengladbach, Germany includes the following players:
César Hauet, Joost Jansen, Henri Lhomme, Viktor Lockwood, Fabien Magner, Valentin Migneau, Arnaud Becuwe, Matthieu Catonnet, Matthias Dierckens, Bastien Dierckens, Jean-Baptiste Pauchet, Fabien Pourcelet, Olivier Sanchez, Martin Genestet,
