Scott Hamilton to join Leicester Tigers for game against Scarlets
The Leicester Tigers and Scarlets are ready for the most anticipated Heineken Cup fixture at Parc y Scarlets. Stephen Jones, the Wales fly half have joined Scarlet’s starting line-up, whereas Scott Hamilton would be taking a sudden break from his honey moon
to join the Tigers in the place of injured skipper Geordan Murphy. Stephen Jones just returned from his injury and will be starting a fixture after being sidelined for more than a month.
Jones believes that his side needs to play smart rugby because it’s an important match coming up.
He said, “The big challenge for us is to keep thinking.” He stressed on game plan and strategy to be more diverse than usual.
Hamilton has spent his last two weeks in New Zealand with his newly married wife and wasn’t hoping for his honeymoon to end this quickly. He will be joining in the starting lineup and is the only change made by the Tigers after beating Northampton Saints
ferociously last weekend. Since he joined the club, he has earned a reputation of one of the most lethal players and finishers in English rugby. And he also realizes that Leicester Tigers should demonstrate the game for which they are renowned for and avoid
crashing out of Heineken Cup.
He said, “You don't often get season-defining games at this stage of the season but this is one. We came up short against the Ospreys last season and got knocked out at the group stages. We don't want to go down that route again.”
Hamilton insisted that Scarlets is a strong side and they have shown some out class skills in defense and scored few amazing tries. Scarlets have the best Back coach this season and have created a strong wall in their defense.
Richard Cockerill, the director of rugby for Leicester had a firm stance like Hamilton to stay safe and attack at every opportunity provided.
He said, “Llanelli will not be a place for the faint-hearted. If the Scarlets beat us, they will go a long way towards booking a place in the quarter-finals of the competition and, if we win, we will be in a similar boat.”
Richard is true because if Tigers lose this match then they are as good as out of the league.
Tigers are currently at two point deficit from Scarlets, who are topping the table. Perpignan are just one point behind Scarlets and are a really strong quarter final contender.
