Scott Jamieson working hard to book his place on the Ryder Cup team
Scott Jamieson claimed his first title on the European Tour and is working on his performance to get his name in the European Ryder Cup team.
The Scottish professional golfer, Jamieson started his season with a bang after he won the Nelson Mandela Championship.
Starting his season with such high level exhibition of golf, the Scott made a mark on the following tournament, as he claimed the third spot in the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
The Europeans have an excellent record in the Ryder Cup where they outplayed their American rivals in most of the confrontations they had.
Jamieson has focused on qualifying for a place on the team. The Ryder Cup will be held sometime in September 2014.
The Scottish professional golfer said that although his road to the team will be a tough one with numerous obstacles to challenging him, he said that it is important to keep hopes high and try to make the cut.
While speaking about his chances for the induction in the team, the Nelson Mandela Championship title winner said, "It's important to have big dreams, but let's just take it one step at a time. Qualifying starts in September and, obviously, you're
looking at winning a couple of times.
“But having tasted victory I'd like to think I could throw my name into the ring for events that count towards the team. Look at Paul Lawrie last year. Once you get some momentum going, you never know where it will take you".
Jamieson has had one of the most ideal of starts to his new season’s campaign. If he keeps the momentum going and shows the same level of play that won him the title in South Africa, the Scott is likely to make his place on the Ryder Cup team.
The 29-year-old said that as he has matured on the tour, his priorities and targets have changed. He further said that if he moves on with the same momentum, he will land himself within the top fifty in the official world ranking.

If everything goes well and according to plans, then getting himself inducted on the Ryder Cup squad will be smooth sailing for the professional golfer.
