Scott Moore inks three-year-deal with Vikings Widnes - Rugby League News
St. Helens’ hooker, Scott Moore, has been taken on board by the Super League’s franchise, Vikings Widnes, on a new three-year deal. This news was disclosed on Wednesday, October 12, by Widnes and is the hooker is their 13th recruit of the year.
Moore has made 73 appearances with his former club, with the last one made on Saturday, in the Grand Final title decider which the franchise lost 16-32 to Leeds Rhinos, which strangled their hopes of putting an end to the string of successive defeats by
the same opponent at Old Trafford.
Moore made his debut with Saints at the tender age of 16. After realising that he still has a long way to go, the player decided to hunt for new employments, because his chances were bleak in the presence of Keiron Cunningham and James Roby on board.
So after spending two years on loan at Huddersfield Giants and Castleford Tigers, the prop decided to make his come back to the club, with which he had made his debut.
While talking about the player’s recent uptake, Vikings’ coach Denis Betts said, "In my opinion, he is definitely one of the best hookers in Super League and for somebody so young, he has a tremendous amount of first-team experience under his belt. Scott
has regularly played at the highest level and competed in the play-offs, a Grand Final, a Challenge Cup final and on the international stage. Having sampled experiences such as these, he'll be hungry for more of the same and his appetite to succeed will be
infectious to all of those around him.”
The coach also acknowledged that to find talent at par with his is another huge step. He even went on and said that the player is one of the best hookers available. Moreover, Betts reckoned that with Moore being part of the team, he may serve as its backbone.
Moore is well-known for his on-field brilliance at the hooker’s position. This sets him apart from the rest when it gets coupled with his vast international and national level experience.
