Scott Parker condemns offensive chants, aims at win with England in 2012 Euro qualifiers

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker has spoken up against the abusive chants aimed at teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 striker and the Arsenal
manager, Arsene Wenger, were both targeted by fans.
While the two London clubs were quick to respond to the abusive chanting, releasing a joint statement condemning the chants, it did little to prevent the damage that had already been done. Parker revealed he was saddened by what took place at White Hart
Lane over the weekend.
The 30-year-old former West Ham United midfielder said he was aware of how these things happened in football, but after last weekend, felt action had to be taken against the perpetrators. With something as serious as this, Parker was of the view issuing
statements was just not enough.
Parker said while speaking to reporters:
“It is probably the one sport that people can abuse other people and it seems half acceptable. It is so wrong it is a joke.
Just because you play for an opposing team doesn't give people the right to abuse you.”
He admitted he had not heard the chants himself, but was later made aware of the extent at which some of the supporters had gone to. He urged the authorities concerned to deal with the matter so that it did not happen in the future.
The Spurs midfielder continued:
“I didn't hear it at the weekend but I have seen some of the stuff that has been written. If that was the case, the people who were involved need to be dealt with.”
Meanwhile, Parker and the rest of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 at the Wembley Stadium, they now need just one point to qualify for the European competition.
The English midfielder admitted he was looking forward to featuring for his side in the competition next year and was excited at the prospect of qualifying. If England do qualify, it will be Parker’s very first time in a major competition with the national
side.
Parker revealed:
“It would be massive for me to qualify.”
Despite the fact that his side need just one point to qualify, Parker insisted England would be taking the game very seriously and would be aiming for a win. He disclosed how the side under http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello had a winning mentality and always approached each
game with the desire to emerge as winners.
He said:
“The fact we only need a point doesn't change our approach one bit.
Whenever we play for England we want three points. I don't think Friday is any different.”
