Tottenham Hotspur and England midfielder Scott Parker has praised his national side for their fight against France in their opening clash of the European Championships.
However, Parker was doubtful over the chances of his side to go on to eventually win the tournament. While the Three Lions were decent against France, they only managed to come out of the clash with a point since the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
England will be taking on Sweden next, on Friday in Kiev, after which they face co-hosts http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032. Parker felt the stalemate against France had been a decent result and that his side could go on to build on that performance in the upcoming matches.
Parker said in an interview:
“I think it was a good result and something for us to build on. We did pretty well.
We were disappointed to concede against a good French team but sometimes they are going to stretch you a bit. They have very good individuals who get into pockets all over the pitch.”

He revealed:
“The manager was very positive afterwards. That's the way it has to be. The only way you get going in life is by being positive and looking for the ups rather than the downs.”
