Scott Parker not too hopeful about West Ham United’s survival in the Premier League
West Ham United midfielder, Scott Parker has gone on to admit that he doesn’t think his side have a strong chance of avoiding the drop at the end of the season. With just two game left in the season, West Ham are being hailed as one of the favourites to
get relegated and Parker can’t do anything but agree with those claims.
As it stands, should West Ham go on and beat both Wigan Athletic and Sunderland in their remaining fixtures, they could still suffer a drop, since their future is now not entirely in their own hands.
When talking about this predicament that his team are in, Parker is reported to have said: "It's not looking good. It's out of our hands a bit even if we win both our games.
"I would be lying if I said we had a good opportunity of surviving but there's still a slight chance we can do something.
"All we can do is win our final two games and then see what happens. You never know."
Parker has gone on to pick up the Football Writer’s Player of the Year award and despite being surprised at winning those honours, he went on to drop hints that his future might lie elsewhere, should West Ham face the drop.
After accepting the Football Writers' Player of the Year award on Thursday, Parker admitted he was surprised to have picked up the accolade and hinted that he would probably have to leave the Hammers if they are relegated.
Parker went on to add:"I am staggered I have won and am very, very proud"
"At the end of the day, I am in a team sport and ultimately I'm not doing it by myself. I could change all this for me to stay up and be involved in a successful team.”
Parker has without a shadow of a doubt, been the most influential player on the Hammers roster. The player’s ability to tackle, break up play and then create an attack for his team in the blink of an eye has been brilliant to watch all season long. In fact,
it is this factor, along with the player’s near perfect playing style that helped him win the award from the Football Writers.
Due to his impressive form, Parker had been linked with moves to much bigger clubs for most parts of the season. However, Parker opted to stick around and stay with the Hammers, in hopes that he might be able to salvage something for the team, but with that
now looking close to impossible, the player is reconsidering his future.
It would be harsh to label the player as being selfish, since till his very last moments with the club, he has been giving it his all and trying his level best every opportunity that he gets.
At the moment, the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 are all being linked with the player, who is being valued in at around seven million pounds by the experts.
