Scott Parker wants to leave West Ham United – English Premier League news
West Ham United midfielder, Scott Parker, has revealed that he wants to leave West Ham United in order to continue playing in the Barclays Premier League. The Hammers were relegated to the npower Championship in the recently concluded 2010/11 Premier League
campaign.
The England international has been hugely influential for West Ham United this season, which makes the Hammers’ relegation all the more frustrating for him. His untiring efforts for the club failed to have the desired outcome, as West Ham ultimately crashed
out of the Premier League before the final day of the season. Speculation has been rife as to whether the Hammers will be able to retain key members of the squad now that they have been relegated into the lower leagues, but it seems as if the club will be
forced to sell in the summer transfer window to balance the books.
Scott Parker has caught the eye of a number of the biggest clubs in England, and there is no shortage of suitors for Parker’s signature. It is starting to look like he will be amongst the high profile names that will be leaving Upton Park during the summer
months. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international has already made his intentions clear, saying that he would like to continue to compete in the top flight, rather than wait for West Ham to claw their way back into the Premier League.
Speaking on the matter, Parker said, “'It is obviously very, very disappointing and I've stated before it has been a good season for me personally, probably some of the best football that I've played for a long, long while. But at the end of it I'm involved
in relegation and no-one wants that. Obviously [the Premier League] is where I want to play and where everybody aims to play. It is the best league and if you were asking anyone this question they would say the same. We will see what happens over the next
couple of months.”
He added, “We were very, very disappointed with the last couple of games. Obviously getting relegated wasn't pleasing.”
West Ham United finished the 2010/11 Barclays Premier League season in 20th
place, ensuring that they were relegated well before the final day of the campaign.
