Scott Styris to join Hobart Hurricanes for Big Bash League 2 – Cricket News Update
Former New Zealand all-rounder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SB-Styris-c2463 has signed with the Hobart Hurricanes for the upcoming second edition of Australia’s T20 Big Bash League.

The inaugural edition of the league took place last year, from which the Sydney Sixers emerged triumphant, while the Hurricanes (who had finished at number 2 on the league points table) made it to the semis, but were unable to progress to the finals.
Styris is the second international player to sign with the Hurricanes in addition to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/OA-Shah-c2134, and his inclusion brings the Hurricanes’ list of signed players up to 16. Teams are expected to announce their complete 18-man squads by the
end of November this year, and the second edition of the tournament begins in December this year.
37-year-old Styris, who made his international debut in an ODI against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754. He announced his retirement from Test matches in February 2008,
in order to extend his limited-overs career, and continued to play ODIs for the national side until 2011, announcing his retirement from all forms of international cricket after the World Cup.
However, the all-rounder has remained active in domestic T20 tournaments around the world, and has played a total of 144 T20s, with 2996 runs to his credit. Styris has been affiliated with Indian Premier League franchises Chennai Super Kings and Deccan Chargers,

His recent outing attracted the attention of the Hurricanes, and his expertise is likely to serve the team in good stead as they kick off their BBL campaign with a match against Brisbane Heat at the Gabba on December 9.
