Scott Taylor extends his stay for two more years at Hull Kingston Rovers – Rugby League news
Hull Kingston Rovers (Hull KR), a British professional Rugby Football League Club, has extended the contract of their back row forward, Scott Taylor. Club officials have confirmed the news about the extension in the contract of the impressive youngster on
Hull KR’s official website on Monday, June 6.
The 20-year-old Taylor has graduated from the clubs academy and climbed his way up to the senior team. He has so far made 13 appearances for the senior team, which includes nine appearances during the 2011 season.
His impressive performance in the year has prompted other clubs to approach him. However, at the end Taylor decided to stay with the Rovers. He has signed a two-year deal with the Rovers that would allow him to be a regular feature for the Hull KR’s senior
side.
Hull KR head coach, Justin Morgan, has expressed his delight at Taylor’s decision to remain with the club. He has praised Taylor’s hard work and his commitment to extend his understanding of the game and develop better skills. Morgan further added, “He's
tough, he's got a thirst for knowledge, he's got a huge amount of potential and he's impressed me this year with his maturity on the training field. He's been very good.”
Hull born Taylor has expressed his delight at achieving the contract and thanked the club management for the trust they expressed on his skill. He said, “They've taught me everything I know and I'm happy to stay here for the rest of my career, with the way
I feel at the minute.”
Taylor has expressed his satisfaction with his progress and development in the game. He hoped that in the next season he will get more playing chances and will be doing his best to help the club win the title. Taylor further added, “We want to win trophies.
The fans are the best in Super League and deserve some trophies. I just want to play regularly in Super League and hopefully get into double figures for games this year.”
Taylor made his super league debut in 2009 against the Leeds Rhinos. Hull KR have so far won six of the sixteen games in the season. They are currently at the 10th position on the league table.
