Scottie Pippen believes Miami Heat can build a dynasty – NBA Update
It took two seasons for the Big Three of Miami Heat to finally deliver on their promise of bringing home an NBA Championship – an impressive feat considering the criticism they had faced every since the star studded line up was
formed. However this is only the beginning for many successful years to come and one former NBA great, Scottie Pippen acknowledges that fact.
According to Pippen, Miami’s exploits in the past two season have been nothing but impressive and Erik Spoelstra deserves much credit for keeping the hunger alive.
He even went on to compare Spoelstra with Phil Jackson who along with Michael Jordan and Pippen won three consecutive NBA Champions twice while at Chicago Bulls.
"He's [Spoelstra] been very successful. He's a young coach and [is] a lot like Phil [Jackson], who had the best talent in the game."
Pippen went on to add that there might not be any guarantees given the current state of the NBA, however if Spoelstra is able to keep the same type of hunger in the team, they are bound for several successful years to come.
"If he can keep the Big Three, he has the foundations of a dynasty there," he added, but cautioned that there are no title guarantees.
"Other teams in the league become better too, so it's not just about the players you keep. But if this nucleus stays the same, they have a great chance of winning a string of championships."
It has become more of a common thing that in order to bring a championship an organization needs two big time players. So far in the off-season, Los Angeles Lakers have added Steve Nash alongside Kobe Bryant, but Pippen is sure
that with Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis coming to the South Beach, the heat still have a better roster.
Heat have been able to make improvements to their roster which would not only provide them with better scoring options but increase their bench productivity.
In Allen, they have the best three point shooter in NBA and Lewis is also no mug when it comes to making an impact.
