Scottie Pippen has high hopes for Derrick Rose; Future of Chicago Bulls – NBA News
The ACL injury to Chicago Bulls star point guard Derrick Rose came as a shock to fans as well as players all over the NBA.
Rose is an exceptional talent and his absence was badly felt in the 2012 playoffs. Ever since the injury, many people have been asked about it and what are their thoughts about Rose’s return to the game.
Scottie Pippen, the former hall of famer, was also asked about Rose and the impending challenge for the Bulls next season, when he recently made an appearance on Comcast SportsNet Chicago on Friday.
Pippen was asked how he thought Rose would return to the game and what affect will the injury have on his game and personality.
"He's going to be a bigger, better, stronger player. I think it's great to have something like this happen if it's going to happen at a young age (23). He's going to heal fast, and he's going to push himself now to be better than he probably would have ever been,” said Pippen.
Pippen was also confident and positive about the future of the Chicago Bulls in the absence of Rose. He said that he felt like the Bulls roster is going to respond to the challenge ahead of them and rise to the occasion.
"I think for the players here on the team they're going to be excited. It's a new opportunity, a greater challenge for them not having Derrick. His presence will be there, and he has a challenge himself to get himself back on the court,” added the hall of famer.
The Bulls will enter next season with a new bench and in the absence of Rose, their leader and the best player on the team. They will have expectations to live up to and the pressure of keeping the Bulls in playoff positioning till the time Rose returns.
It will be a difficult season for the Bulls and Coach Tom Thibodeau, who will only be left with the likes of Joakim Noah, Luol Deng and Carlos Boozer, all injury prone stars. He can take heart from the fact that his team survived rather well in a 27 game Rose-less span last season, but it cannot be denied that the Bulls are just not the same without their one guard.
