Scottish Lake to repeat his Kempton form in Wolverhampton’s 32Red Casino Handicap
Monday’s 32Red Casino Handicap at Wolverhampton is a fiercely competitive event. Roy The Boy has a lot to offer after making a wonderful effort here last time. Similarly, Majuro is determined to do wonders after returning to form at Epsom last week.
Amoure Medici is another to keep an eye on. After a few unlucky defeats, the 3-year-old put his journey on the right track by clinching a close triumph here at the start of this month.
Pipers Piping, on the other hand, is aiming to get his act together under the care of new trainer John Butler. All abovementioned runners are extremely dangerous, but still a chance should be taken only on Scottish Lake, who is coming off a couple of marvellous
wins at Kempton.
Scottish Lake collected plenty of embarrassment during last couple of years. After two winless seasons, the 4-year-old finally got it right this season. Trained by Olivia Maylam, the bay gelding made his seasonal debut at the start of last month.
In the Betfair Classified Stakes, he caused a huge upset. The 14-1 chance took keen hold early on, and with the help of an excellent finish, he secured a close win over Conducting. After bagging a neck-distance victory, the Miss Olivia Maylam-owned further
raised his game to ensure a comprehensive win in mid August.
In the hands of Kirsty Milczarek, he led after the first furlong, and stayed ahead until the finishing line. Bred by Farmers Hill Stud, the son of Bertolini eventually seized the top rank by a length’s distance. After two wonderful victories, Scottish Lake’s
confidence is at a high. So, his chances of repeating his Kempton form are very bright.
According to the schedule, the class 5 meeting will be started off at 15:30 GMT. It has attracted a dozen entries, including Scottish Lake. The 7f32y meeting carries a cash prize worth £2,264.
According to our calculations, Roy The Boy is the biggest threat to Scottish Lake. But the way the 4-year-old is performing for the new yard, another win is likely. We wish the best of luck to all the horses.
