Scottish Premier League: Celtic vs Hibernian – Celtic edge past Hibernian by 2-1 scoreline
(part 2)
Hibs were also the first team to be booked on the night, Dickoh slid in with a very late tackle on Joe Ledley in the twenty third minute and as a result was shown the first yellow card on the night. The fact that the Hibs players
were starting to get carded, showed that the team was now getting desperate.
The next player to get booked was Stokes. The player displayed some good footwork with the ball, before falling to the ground. The referee knew what was going on over there and showed the player a yellow for diving. That was something
that Stokes could have done without, the player was well aware that his team was dominating, which is why his diving was rather pointless.
Juarez took a shot at the goal on the forty fifth minute, however his shot was very poorly timed and went sailing, miles over the cross bar. Almost immediately after the shot the referee blew the whistle to signal the end of the
first half.
Hibernian had no shots at the goal in the opening forty five minutes of the match, which showed just how badly the side was struggling.
The second half picked up in rather frantic fashion as compared to the first.
On the forty seventh minute, Hooper combined with Stokes to find space to take a shot at the Hibs goal, his first time effort was spilled by the keeper, however Brown had to gather the ball at the second attempt, to prevent Celtic
from scoring on the rebound.
Two minutes later it was Celtic who were doing the dictating once again. The midfield played a brilliant pass but it fell into the path of Hibs player,  Derek Riordan, Stokes however would have been clear on goal, had he been paying
more attention, considering Riordan was caught off gaurd with that pass.
On the fifty first minute, Celtic won themselves a corner. The ball was curled into the box, where it was flicked onto the path of Loovens, who smashed it goal wards. The Hibs defense managed to clear the ball somehow, but the referee's
assistant on the sideline's ruled that the ball had gone over the line and awarded the goal to Celtic.
Hibs were back in the game two minutes later. Riordan found himself with the ball at his feet outside the Celtic area. With no options in front of him, the player tried an audacious chip and caught Foster off his line. Hibs were
back in the game, despite Celtic dominating. This only proved that if a team turns off for even the smallest amount of time in a game, it can come back to haunt them later on.
As the match progressed, Celtic continued to attack the away team, only this time around Hibs were also trying to take a pop at the Celtic defense. This was easily done due to the goal that Riordan scored, which seemed to bring
new life into the away side.
However the Celtic defense and offense was at it's best, as they did brilliantly to contain the Hibs attacks and keep pressure on their defense. After a lot of attacking and back and forth running, the match eventually ended with
Celtic leap frogging to the top of the Scottish Premier League table for the time being, this was because Rangers were yet to play their match, which was shceduled to be a late kick of on Sunday night.
