  1. All of the UK uses GBP- great british pounds

Scotland has three of its own banks, though, and they all print their own version of GBP with their own pictures on (nearly all of breweries)

According to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_tende... ), and this has two links to reference it-

"Scottish notes are not legal tender anywhere in the UK, including Scotland where only the coins are officially legal tender. Although this is the case, Scottish notes are widely accepted in return for goods throughout the UK; they have a similar legal standing to cheques or debit cards, in that their acceptability as a means of payment is essentially a matter for agreement between the parties involved."

"In Scotland and Northern Ireland, some banks have the right to issue their own banknotes. These circulate freely alongside Bank of England notes and have the same value. The Currency and Bank Notes Act 1954 defined Bank of England notes of less than £5 in value as legal tender in Scotland.[7] Since the English £1 note was removed from circulation in 1988, this leaves a legal curiosity in Scots law whereby there is no paper legal tender in Scotland, this is also true for Northern Ireland. The acceptance of English or Scottish banknotes in Scotland and Northern Ireland is a matter for agreement between the parties involved."

  2. Scotland does produce it's own bank notes, as does England, but since both countries are in Britain and both currencies are the Pound Sterling you can use them interchangeably

they are basically the same currency, only the notes produced by the Bank of England, and Bank of Scotland just look a bit different

  3. i was there a couple days ago, the british pound is fine you will have no problems

    have fun!

  4. There is no such thing as a "British" pound.  I assume you are a bit ignorant when it comes to the UK as it seems a lot of people are (liket he other person that answered your question).  For the record there are Scottish & English pounds.  English pounds are readily accepted in Scotland.  Scotland & England are part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland, so Scots & English are both technically British. You will not have to show your passport when you go over the border either!
