  1. You have been told of all the nice places to visit if you like those type of things, I stay in Glasgow and I'm as far north as I will ever go as I don't like green fields and midges, bring lots of midge repellent as the midges are rife. Aberdeen is a nice city to visit.

  2. Aviemore is well worth a visit. Lots to see and do

  3. here's a website with things to do in Scotland :).

  4. if you travel in the highlands make sure of your petrol i had to drive from essex to lossiemouth on the A9 not manygarages on that road about 100miles but what a beautiful part if the world  so yes . try theA82 LOCH LOCHYthen on to INVERNESS thats if your that side of scotland have a lovely holiday went to BUTE last year the ferries are very expensive   but the island is nice

  5. Kyle of Lochalsch to see the Skye Bridge, in fact the whole of the Isle of Skye. Go across to Gairloch, again on the West coast and follow the winding road north (taking in the Isle of View [say that bit out loud]. Pretty much anywhere north and or west of Inverness will give the most stunning scenery. If action is more your sort of thing the Aviemore, Inverness and Fort William (especially the Anoch Mor cable car). Try the circular tour of Loch Ness for some great views of the Loch, especially going back up the eastern side. Going east from Inverness, Nairn is pretty and Sueno's Stone at Forres is intriguing, Elgin is good for shopping and a bit further beyond is Baxters food factory at Fochabers, another worthwhile visit. Whisky distilleries a-plenty, almost wherever you go. My personal favorite is Glenfiddich but they nearly all have visitor centres and sampling.

This all from an Englishman who spent 20 years in the area and misses the fresh air, gorgeous scenery and his wonderful sons and grand-daughter who still live there.

  6. Arrochar is quite nice

  7. If you are going up as far as the isle of Skye, and you should its very beautiful, just before the skye bridge you will see a sign for a place called Plockton.  It is a tiny village with 2 hotels and numerous b and b accommodation.  Its main street is lined with palm trees as its on the gulf stream.  Its amazing, scenery spectaculat, people very friendly, go and spend at least one night there.

    Enjoy!
