In Glasgow a ned is a non educated hooligan.  A tough guy who gets up to no good.

It won't be n.e.d. but "ned". Term for young idiot.

I know what randy means (I didn't know it was Scottish - it is in general use in UK) - it means (how can I put this politely?)  - desperate for s*x!

I don't know what n.e.d. stands for.  I will let a Scot answer that.
