  1. I'm guessing you still want to be creative even without photos. This happened to me once. I went to an event and took pictures of eveyone and forgot to have my picture taken. So when it came time to scrapbook I decorated my page as I would have and inside the frames where my pictures would have been I journal and talked about why there was no photo of meself. Hope that helps good luck.

  2. Not all scrapbooks have to have pictures.  There is NO wrong way to scrapbook and the MOST important thing in scrapbooking IS the journaling!

What you can do is buy stickers and decorate the pages to go along with your writing IF you feel you want to decorate your pages.  You an doodle which is VERY hot in scrapbooking right now, there's even a book out which you can get at amazon.com that's on doodling in your scrapbooks.  Just type in doodling in scrapbooks and it will come up.

You can do paragraphs, lists, Top Ten lists, anything YOU want!  It's YOUR book, it has to make YOU happy and it's YOUR choice what you put in there and what you don't put in there!  You can put things in there that you saved from places you've gone and things you've done.  Just make sure to use acid free pens and acid free glue which you can get at any crafts store like Michael's, AC Moore, etc.

Do whatever you like, write however you like and if you feel like decorating the pages you can put stickers to match what you're writing about, doodling, punches, whatever YOU like!  Go to your local crafts store and walk around the scrapbooking section and see what you like.

You can check out sites like creatingkeepsakes.com

    twopeasinabucket.com

    lifetimemoments.com

    cropperscottage.com

    simplescrapbooks.com

These all have idea galleries and you can find layouts with and without pictures.  I hope this helps!

  3. You can make a scrapbook out of anything, a paper bag, a notepad, card stock. There is no right or wrong way to scrapbook. Start with a piece of card stock, you can write on another piece or type it out. I love layering card stock and using embellishments. Just make your story or thoughts your main focal point, instead of a pic. If you have questions or need more help I would love to help!

  4. I have made many scrapbook layouts with few or no pictures Sometimes I had no pictures; other times there were other keepsakes that I wanted to display instead.

To many of us, the journaling is among the most important element. Journaling in your own handwriting (as opposed to printing from the computer) is especially nice, since it makes the memory and the layout personal to you.

The two links below show pictures of scrapbook pages done without pictures.

You might even want to make your own journal/scrapbooks from scratch. There are plenty of tutorials on the net showing you how to make journals using everything from paper bags to card stock to CD disks to coin envelopes.....

Most importantly, remember there is no right and wrong way to scrapbook. It's your book and your memories. Have fun doing it.

  5. When you say to journal, I think of blogging.  Many people use a free Blogger account which can be made private for only your viewing.  Just type up your journaling each day and post it.  It can be done from any computer anywhere.

Thereafter, you could collect all of your posts for printing or save a copy of the site on your computer.

  6. I love scrapbooking and when  I want to journal a lot I get one of those templates that has maybe 10 different designs on it: like a heart, octagon, leaf, circle, square, triangle, etc. I use lots of my scrap pieces and make different sizes of all of these, and sort of layer them on a page and then journal over and around them.

Also, Martha Stewart has come out with a whole line of scrapbooking supplies, so I'd definitely check her stuff and go online to www.MarthaStewart.com and click on crafts.
